A highly creative use of back yard space, this rear extension to a Victorian terrace in York was completed in 2018. The structural steel frame creates a magnificent and highly practical open plan space to the rear of the property.

Che and Carl carried out our extensive extension after previous builders had left half way through the job, finding it too complex.

Most builders would not touch the work previously carried out but they interrogated and resolved the existing works before continuing to provide a beautiful extension and bathroom to our specification. They were considerate to us and our neighbours, working around the children and our hours. As a result we were able to live in during the build. We cannot thank them enough. Bishopthorpe is a leafy village on the outskirts of York. This property is within the Bishopthorpe conservation area. The project involved the removal of a uPVC conservatory, replaced by a permanent brick and block wall construction.

The extension is sympathetic to the rear aspect of the property, enabling a spacious contemporary interior.

All works were carried out whilst the family continued to live in the semi detached property.

This project in stunning rural setting of Naburn near York, the site of the famous battle in 1066, involved the removal of a simple lean-to conservatory, and replacement with a fully insulated timber-built extension with electrics and heating for occupancy throughout the year. Clad in bespoke-made cedar wood that will age with style.
